An Open Letter to law Enforcement

RE: CADAVER RECOVERY/SEARCH AND RECOVERY

To Whom It May Concern:

Enclosed please find information regarding services being offered in cases of missing children.

The Child Connection, Inc. is a non-profit organization with a special focus to assist in the recovery of missing children/bodies. We do not charge for our services, however we ask that our expenses be covered.

There is hope for dated cases. Bodies can be located after several years. The longest period of time elapsed for a recovery to date was by an air scent dog in our school, which found the skeleton of a 2 year old after it had been buried for 27 years.

Contrary to belief, many people think that search and rescue dogs and cadaver dogs have the same function. This is not true. Highly trained cadaver dogs have a primary focus of locating the following: cadavers, crime scene and evidence location. Their secondary function is to perform search and rescue. Whereas, search and rescue dogs have a primary responsibility of locating an alive victim. Not all search and rescue dogs are trained to locate cadavers.

The Child Connection, Inc. offers certified air scent cadaver teams.Listed below are the types of searches that The Child Connection, Inc. conducts:

CADAVER (buried, hanging, dismemberment, and human ash)
RETURN TO ORIGINAL CRIME SCENE/AND SEARCH OF
KNOWLEDGE OF PROTOCOL AND PRESERVATION OF CRIME SCENE
URBANWATER (TO INCLUDE SWAMP)BUILDING
AUTO,TRUCKARTICLE (EVIDENCE)DNA
COLLAPSED STRUCTUREWEAPONWILDERNESS

Following are a few Law Enforcement Agencies that we have worked with:

  • Oldham County P.D. of Kentucky
  • DeKalb County P.D. of Georgia
  • Custer County Sheriff’s Dept. of Idaho
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation, Atlanta division
  • Columbus Police Department of Ohio

By utilizing our services, the benefits you can expect are as follows:

  • SAVE MONEY AND MANPOWER HOURS
  • REDUCE SEARCH TIME
  • DECREASE RECOVERY TIME
  • REDUCE ANXIETY
  • INCREASE INTEGRITY OF CRIME SCENE
  • CLOSE INVESTIGATIONS

Canvassing of an area can be better expedited by an air scent dog as opposed to humans due to a K-9’s olfactories.

Additional cases will be evaluated upon request.
